This will help me get an idea of how much social engineering I have to do on the vendors to appease the crowd by having enough alcohol and prizes.

So, it has been a while since I have posted ANY updates on what is going on with the ShmooCon meetup and that has simply been due to there not being any. Well as we get closer to Shmoo more things are starting to fall in to place. A blurb written by a gentleman by the name of Moonlit best describes what’s going on.

Please use this blurb on your site to help get the word out. There will be no beer or food served DURING the contests and live broadcast, however the the hotel has a bar open that you can bring food or drink from, and in memory of last year’s Mile-Walk-4-Beer, after the live show we will be heading to the bar across the street from the hotel where a tab will be opened for all PCM attendees.

So this page is now the public facing one. We will probably still be going through some layout adjustments, and if there is anything you don’t like, feel free to email me about it.

Podcasters: Once you have signed up for an account send me a message or an email and I will add your podcast to the blogroll and give you authoring permissions. You will be able to post news and updates on your individual podcasts as they relate to or coincide with one of the meetups.

Coordinators: If you don’t have a podcast but want to participate and coordinate a meetup at another conference, same deal, sign up, send me a message or an email and I will add you to the editorial permissions group.

The site is coming along fine, as you all can see. Wordpress was extremely hard to put up.

You have found this place by friend or podcast and I appreciate you interest. Last year at ShmooCon 07 was the first annual Podcasters Meetup. Now, this idea is not constrained to simply ShmooCon, although the Shmoo Group will always be the fine group of folks who first housed the Podcasters Meetup, I hope one day to see it happening at conferences all around the world.
